At Buff Studs, we celebrate strength, perseverance, and the relentless pursuit of greatness. Today, we’re shining the spotlight on two absolute powerhouses—Tash and Kate—who took on Hyrox Brisbane on March 1, 2025, and crushed it!

Hyrox isn’t just any race—it’s a brutal test of endurance, strength, and mental grit. Completing it is no small feat, but doing so after battling an injury? That’s next level.

Kate’s Grit & Determination

Kate showed unbelievable resilience after suffering a hamstring injury just a month prior. She worked hard through rehab to get race-ready, but after the very first station—the SkiErg—disaster struck. Her hamstring went again. The pain was intense, every movement a battle. But she refused to quit. Step by step, station by station, she pushed through pure agony, proving that a true Stud doesn’t back down.

Tash the Burpee Queen

Meanwhile, Tash was on fire. Not only did she push through every challenge, but she absolutely smashed the burpee broad jumps, showing insane endurance and mental toughness. She kept the energy up, kept them moving forward, and proved what an absolute weapon she is.

The Stud Club Cheer Squad

Of course, the Stud Club crew made an epic appearance, bringing pure energy and unwavering support. Every rep, every run, every station—they had the loudest, most fired-up crew behind them. Because that’s what we do—we show up for each other.

Here’s what the girls had to say about their experience:

Kate: “I recently took on my first HYROX event, and let’s just say—it was way more intense than I expected. HYROX is no joke. The mix of running and functional fitness stations is a completely different kind of suffering compared to a regular race or gym session. I definitely underestimated how important the running aspect was—whoops!

Aside from the injury, the event was a real test of endurance, strength, and mental grit.

Tash and I made an awesome team! We were like Yin and Yang—her favourite stations were my least favourite, and vice versa. Our split in the stations were way faster than I could have hoped for, and I can't thank her enough for being the best support and hype girl.

Key takeaways?
✔ Run more.
✔ Rehab better.

We’ll be back, HYROX!"

Tash:
“Ahhh, hmm… My favourite part of the experience? The atmosphere—being surrounded by like-minded people (Hybrid Rockstars) and the incredible support from friends, strangers, and volunteers.

It was epic to see what I was (and we were) capable of. It lit a fire in me and set the bar for next time. Kate’s never going to hear the end of it until she does a pro race with me!

I told myself I had no expectations—but of course, I did. Unexpected things happen, and that’s okay. Accepting that let me truly enjoy the race, be present, and support Kate. I love being a hype woman, and doing it alongside such a ripper of a friend made it even better.

This challenge gave me clarity. I was scared at first, not being at the level of fitness that I used to be, but it reminded me to do more of what I-ME-love and proved I’m more capable than I thought.

Pain is something we try to avoid, but when you choose to push through it, it’s proof of your ability to evolve and grow stronger. And that’s what it’s all about.”

We couldn’t be prouder of these two. Their resilience, teamwork, and determination embody what Buff Studs is all about—showing up, pushing through, and proving to yourself what you’re capable of.

So, let’s give it up for Tash and Kate! Absolute weapons. Legends. Studs.
